Honda History


The world of HONDA is full with different technologies. This company has been successful not only in the production of cars but also has got the great success in the production of motor bikes. Honda exists in the list of world top automobiles manufacturing companies and its every product is highly demand able in all over the world.

There is a big tale behind the success of the company which starts with the name of Japanese student Mr. Soichiro Honda. In 1938, he dreamed to sell his own designed ring piston to Toyota Company but unfortunately his designed was rejected by Toyota Company. He spent again two years implementing his new ideas on its production and finally got successful in making contract with Toyota Company. The 1949 was the turning year of the Honda Motor Company and the company begins the production of Motor Cycles and won several awards in bike racing and this success made Honda the world’s largest Motor Cycle manufacturer. The successful journey of Honda moves on and every year Honda comes up with its new bike production. In 1969, Honda became the King in the bike manufacturing world when it introduced the world fastest bike Honda CB750 which could easily hit 120mph with the great acceleration and extra ordinary performance.

The car manufacturing history of Honda begins in 1955. In 1958, Honda hired engineers for the production of S360, S500 and T360 pickup. Honda launched T360 in June 1963 and S500 in Oct. 1963. In this initial stage, Honda decided to make different designed car for different countries and N600 was the first production which was exported to United States in 1970. Honda Civic was introduced in 1973 and in 1981; Honda City was specially manufactured for Asia which is still in production with new versions. Honda Accord was launched in 1982 in USA and was the America’s most popular car. SUV 4x4 was launched in 1994. On 50th birthday of Honda, S2000 was introduced to the market. The first Hybrid Civic was launched in 2003. Honda produced its first mass-market hydrogen fuel cell hybrid in 2009.

Honda is well renowned with its innovation and advancement in engineering. Its every new upgraded version in its every car is the clear example of its new invention. By 2013, it could be mass-producing fuel-cell vehicles for Honda.
